Avery Block

Avery Block is the Social Engagement & Brand Champion for Taco Bell Corp®, the nation’s leading Mexican-style quick service restaurant chain serving more than 36.8 million consumers in the U.S. each week.  A culture breeder with 15 years combined experience in Operations and Human Resources, Avery learned early on the imperative role people play in the success of a business.

Her fast-paced career in the restaurant industry has lent her as a sort of “Jackie-of-all-Trades”. Avery’s multi-disciplined experience and journey through various functionalities and roles has enabled her to develop, implement and evolve relevant initiatives to drive and support strategies surrounding social media, internal brand alignment, employee retention and engagement, training, people performance and development, total compensation and recognition.

She has served as an industry panelist covering an array of subjects and has been featured in publications such as Nation’s Restaurant News, Human Resource Executive and PINK Magazine on topics ranging from social recruiting and employment branding to generational inclusion.

Prior to joining Taco Bell, Avery was the People & Brand Manager for Claim Jumper Restaurants where she created their employment brand “Commit to the Journey”, designed and facilitated hourly and management LMS courses as well as managed all Social Media initiatives.

Avery incorporates her dedication to volunteering and making a difference into philanthropic initiatives with her company and within the industry at large. She has served for the last 3 years as the Sponsorship Chair and currently is the Social Media Chair for Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation Orange County Committee and is an active member and volunteer of the Women’s Foodservice Forum.
