Location: Marsalis
Have you noticed that everyone is being asked to do more with less these days? The 2013 economy is predicated on the do-more-with-less assumption. We’re in the new normal!
And what are the results of the new normal? If you are like the vast majority of U.S. companies, 72% of your managers are disengaged, exhausted, moving so fast that they are experiencing a crisis of purpose and meaning, and feeling the effects of exhaustion on their relationships at work and at home.
For individuals to succeed in the new normal, each of us must manage our own energy and learn how to tap into the larger meaning of all that we do. With that combination of management and awareness, our personal brand comes to life and the sky is the limit!
Join Jane and Candra of Culture Effect for Lead Bright: Managing Energy Not Time and learn the research that shows why the way we are working is not working and what you can do to change that. You’ll walk away with a tool to better understand how to maintain optimal energy for your busy life and the beginning of a practice that can build health, productivity and happiness into your life and the lives of those around you.
Pre-Conference Workshop: HackLab: Big Innovation Starts with Thinking Small2:00 - 4:00 PM
Location: Covingtons
Not long ago, innovation was a competitive advantage. Those days are gone. Innovation has become a requirement of survival for business. And yet, the potential of innovation eludes most organizations and leaders.
Innovation isn’t about big changes. And it doesn’t even require a big budget, a big title, or any permission. The changes that matter don’t happen overnight, they are the result of a lot of small, meaningful changes over time. Computer programmers and hackers have used this approach for years and we’ve reaped the rewards.
Applying insights from the computer hacking culture, Jason Lauritsen and Joe Gerstandt of Talent Anarchy will help you find ways to innovate and make progress in your work, one small change at a time. Regardless of your title or experience, you can make big things happen through a series of smart, small changes (hacks). This highly interactive session is designed to provide attendees with actionable insights and tools for immediate application.
The amazing duo of Talent Anarchy are back to apply their magic to helping you reinvent your work and your organization, one hack at a time.

We’ll talk about how they see things differently; how they have broken the rules and reaped the rewards; how they are leading movements that are changing the workplace and the marketplace forever.
We’ll quote them, glorify them, and showcase how they are changing things - pushing the industry, and the human race forward. Some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
